Two Rodeo. This address is located at one of the most exclusive intersections in the world. Where Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive meets Wilshire Boulevard meet, you’ll find an open air promenade with storefronts featuring names like Versace, Judith Ripka and even Porsche Design, this is the exclusivity frosting on the pastry that is Rodeo Drive. As such, Two Rodeo was a perfect place for a west coast V.I.P. introduction for the R8 and Audi’s other exclusive models.
Following the first day of the L.A. Auto Show, Audi executives relaxed over cocktails and live music with a dark-as-night R8, an S8 and a TT Coupe bathed in the glow of promenade mood lighting. For executives and journalists attending, this was more of a wind-down from yesterday’s launch of the TT Roadster on the Audi stand inside the show hall. For a select group of locals, this was the first chance Angelinos and those from the left coast have had to take an up-close look at Audi’s ground-breaking new sportscar.
Audi AG board member Ralph Weyler addressed guests, making mention once more of Audi’s intended R8 pricing. To quote the German executive, the R8 will sell for about “$110,000 nicely equipped”.
Audi has made no secret of its intentions to muscle in and raise its prominence amongst the ranks of the world’s most elite car brands. With backdrops like an R8 parked on the cobblestones of Two Rodeo, those intentions are only made clearer.
For those who may have missed the event at Two Rodeo on Wednesday evening, the R8, TT, S8 and the rest of the Audi line will be on display at the Audi stand at the Los Angeles Auto Show until December 10.
