Wiesbaden/Zandvoort. All DTM fans can expect another special highlight at the DTM weekend in Zandvoort. Short before the start of the DTM race, when the atmosphere is hot anyway, the Zandvoort crowds will witness an additional highlight: Dutch Formula One young-gun Robert Doornbos will make the 750bhp engine of his Red Bull Racing F1 car roar – to wow the fans with quick demonstration laps on the legendary former Grand Prix circuit. And certainly the 24-year old Red Bull Racing Formula One test driver is going to also perform some ‘donuts’. “I’m looking forward to coming to my native Netherlands to complete some demonstration laps with my RBR Formula One car, at Zandvoort,” beamed the Dutchman. “I am sure the spectators will have los of fun.”

‘Race Challenge’ with Doornbos in his F1 car vs. DTM Audi and F3 car
When the demonstration laps are over, the crowds will have the chance of enjoying something never witnessed before: neither at Zandvoort nor anywhere else on the planet. On 3rd September, around noon, the ‘Race Challenge’ will be held, with Red Bull Racing young gun Robert Doornbos in his F1 car, DTM ace Mattias Ekström in his Audi A4 DTM and Red Bull Junior Sebastian Vettel in his Formula 3 single-seater battling it out with one another. Could you imagine a better way for bringing the crowds in the right mood for the seventh round of Europe’s most popular Touring car series? And then, at 14.00hrs, the 20 DTM racers will start into their thrilling 38-lap race on the 4.397-kilometre dune-track.

Autographs from the motor racing aces, beach party with Radio Veronica
The Zandvoort motor racing weekend traditionally also represents a weekend of partying. Just as it was the case last year, the Radio Veronica presenters will go flat out off the track. Certainly, the joint beach party of DTM and Radio Veronica will be the highlight of the celebrations. The action will kick off at the Beach-Club Vroeger on Saturday, 2nd September, at 17.00hrs and the party will run until midnight. The admission will be free for all the holders of a DTM Sunday or weekend ticket. With their mix of hits of the 1980s and 1990s, DJs Silvan Stoet, Arlo van Sluis, Erwin Peters and Ben Liebrand will make for a great atmosphere.

In addition to the always very popular autographing sessions of the DTM brands, Audi and Mercedes-Benz, and the joint autographing session on Saturday afternoon at 16.45hrs, it will be possible to also get autographs next to the Radio Veronica show stage, Robert Doornbos, will turn up as well. On the Dunlop information boards, the on-site visitors are informed on the times when a driver will be there for interviews and autographing sessions.
